Data Sets

The handwritten census of the Black population of Philadelphia were conducted by the Pennslyvania Abolition Society and Black leadership in 1838, 1847, and 1858.  The census'  were converted to tabular formats by the Philadelphia Social History Project and Swarthmore College.  They are available for you here to download for your own analysis.
